DESCRIPTION: SVRAMA The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northwestern Carson County in the Panhandle of Texas... Northeastern Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas... * Until 1215 AM CDT. * At 1119 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of Lake Meredith, or 20 miles northwest of Panhandle, and is nearly stationary. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. * This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Carson and northeastern Potter Counties.
INSTRUCTION: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
